2010 Fishing Tournament & Fundraiser Results
Monday, July 26th, 2010Our May 2010 fishing tournament was as exciting as always at the beautiful Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key. Our own funny-man, emcee, Albert Arazoza kept things lively as usual at the Saturday night banquet. Our thanks to him for the big smiles and gales of laughter! Of course, we give a big shout out to our fishing committee members: Co-chairmen Glen Tupler and Marcus Thermes, Merritt Bird, George Fernandez, Phil Krystel, Alexis Leal, Rex Nealis, and Marty Yount.
And, the winners are – Kudos to ARAZOZA BROTHERS on the Final-Final to win FIRST PLACE with a total points score of 218.8.
SECOND PLACE was awarded to SOUTHEAST UNDERGROUND UTILITIES with a total of 192.20 points.
THIRD PLACE winner was ACOSTA TRACTORS bringing a total of 168 points.
LARGEST FISH 33 lbs. caught by JOHN COYNE (Southeast underground). – “Reely” good catch!
CONFIDENT & GUTSY in the midst of high winds and rough seas– Up at 5:00 a.m. and eager to go, our JUNIOR ANGLER, OLIVIA NELSON, (daughter of Jeff and Maria Alana) on Ric-Man’s boat, braved the Small Craft Warnings and hooked a 21.4 lb. dolphin! Watch out ladies, she will be challenging you soon.

MATTHEW RHODES was chosen to receive the G.C. Tonelli Achievement Award. Matthew is the son of Michael & Patricia Rhodes. (Member firm: Homestead Paving.) Matthew will be attending the University of Miami – Go Canes!
ANDRES VILLADA, son of Irene & Oscar Villada. (Member firm: Ryan Inc. Southern) Andres has been accepted to the College of Engineering at the UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME!

In order to recognize those members who have made selfless contributions to the Engineering Contractors Association of South Florida, Inc., the ECA board of directors has set forth the following criteria for eligibility as an Honorary Lifetime Member.
Sponsorship – A member must be sponsored or nominated by a current ECA member.
Recipient must have served as a member of the ECA board of directors.
Recipient must have held a minimum of at least ten years active service as a member of the ECA.
Recipient must be retired.
Recipient must be approved by a unanimous decision of the board of directors.
